What role is the Jewish community playing in building a better, more inclusive, sustainable Portland?
Join us on our first Lab out on the west coast – just when school lets out and you've got the itch to travel.
We'll explore Portland with our partner, Tivnu: Building Justice, and meet with other local government, business and non-profit leaders to explore the city through the lens of social innovation.
Meet with young adults from Outside the Frame

Check out a 500 foot waterfall in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area
Visit Portland's “Urban Growth” Boundary
Learn about the fascinating history of Jews in Oregon, and engage with Portland's thriving social justice Jewish community
- Visit with local social innovators and entrepreneurs
- Eat at restaurants that also are social enterprises
- Stay in downtown Portland to experience a local innovation ecosystem
Who: Rising 10th - Rising 12th graders
When: June 21, 2018 – June, 28, 2018
Cost: $1,850 includes all local transportation, meals, lodging, social impact visits and social events! (Airfare not included.) Some scholarship money is available.
Airfare: Participants are being asked to secure their own travel. Teens can either travel to/from with Greenhouse staff (flight details to be posted asap), or they can fly solo arriving at PDX airport between 11am - 3pm on June 21 and departing from PDX between 8am-12pm on June 28.
