Sara Aharon

Author, "From Kabul to Queens: The Jews of Afghanistan and Their Move to the United States"

Sara Y. Aharon is the author of “From Kabul to Queens: The Jews of Afghanistan and Their Move to the United States." She speaks about her research on Afghanistan’s Jewish community and Muslim-Jewish relations at universities, synagogues, libraries and community centers across the U.S. Most recently she has worked at the Anti-Defamation League in development and interfaith/intergroup outreach, where she built relationships with the Muslim, Catholic, Black, Latino and diverse faith communities in NYC, and led education programs for students and educators from multiple religious communities. In her free time, when not with her treasured friends and family, she can be found at live music events, walking in the park, and traveling. She studied modern Jewish history and Middle Eastern studies at New York University and Brandeis University, as well as leadership coaching through Columbia Business School.
